My window switches have become intermittent they open but will not close, or not work at all. I've tried the spares that I have but these are doing trhe same, is there any quick fix for these i.e. do they dry out ? or is it try to source new ones.

You can carefully take them to bits and clean them up. :)

When I first got my car the windows were intermittent, and when I took the switches apart they were full of dust and fluff. Be careful as you take them to bits, the plastic is often brittle by now and the clips that hold the switch together can break. Once it comes apart there's some small springs and a ball bearing inside, so best to do it somewhere you wont loose little bits! It's not really complex as it sounds.

With the fluff removed and contacts given a once over with a fine sand paper and a bit of fresh grease in them my windows have worked perfectly ever since.

i did this the other day, when i took the switches apart these tiny brass type bearings i suppose you would call them flew out as well as the springs, i located the springs and cleaned the switches out and put the whole thing back together again minus the little brass type bearings and the windows work fine, the switches where sticking a little in that when you pushed them down they would stay down but that was not a massive problem and its stopped doing that after i flicked them up and down a few times!
