Hello from brechin up in scotland. Glad to find a site for 1st gen rx7s. I have owned my 1983 (OES102Y) model for 5 years now and only the 3rd owner. She has covered 84000 miles, and is pretty much standard, The bodywork has had nothing done to it although she could do with a few wee bits and peices touched up but is overall a good clean example. I am a motor mechanic to trade and one day whilst visiting a local scrapyard i couldnt beleive my luck, there was a rx7 going away to go to the crusher, although it was left hand drive i couldnt let i be crushed so a deal was done to take it home there and then. This one had only done 49000kms so i have a complete engine that runs sweet as and loads of other spares. The first thing i did was remove the wheels from it and send them to be refurbished as they were the rotor shape and i also swapped the centre console which housed a very smart period clarion twin knober stereo with cassette deck. She regulary attends classic vehicle events in scotland. I will try to upload as many photos as i can but not great with tech stuff

Best way is to upload to photobucket first and then link from there.

Hi, a warm welcome to the FB forum.... I think I may have a pic of your car from a show a couple of years back?

The easiest way to upload photos is to open a free photobucket account, upload your photos to it and then link them to the forum... very, very simple to do and you don't have to worry about image sizes as you aren't actually uploading images to the forum, just linking to them.

Glad to have you onboard,
cheers,
Ian

Hi Peem, Greetings from me (Dave N. on MRC). Your car was at Glamis Show I think.

Can you remember the reg of the left hooker you broke? If it was here in UK I'd like to log it as a scrap 1st Gen.

Codge

hi dave sorry i have no idea what the reg was as there were no plates on it and i have no v5 for it as the deal was it could never see the road again as its logged scrap. i know it came from aberdeen but thats all im afraid and must have been in this country for a long time as the headlamps were right hand drive and the corrosion was unbeleivable. it still runs though and has ice cold air con still working too so if you know of anyone looking for a pump or condenser
