My new FB! Finally got around to rubbing a little polish on the car. (Apologies for the photo quality- from a slightly old camera.)

Enjoy!

that looks lovely Dave h[b[
it's obviously been well cared for all of its life.
It just shows the low value of these cars these days when cars like this stick in the classifieds for ages..... even at his original selling price it looks as if it was a great buy.
Very nice

i don't wanna sound rude or nosey asking what you paid, but considering how tidy this car is
it'll have been a good price. boot very tidy when you see the spare wheel.

very nice example and credit to the previous owner for keeping it that way, well done. :)

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

She's all battened down in the garage now as I intend to give her a good going over during the next couple of weeks in prep for a trip to Dorset.

Immediate jobs:

1. Strip (and refit) the interior to give the floor pan & electrics a look over to check for any hidden "surprises"; also borrow a 4 poster to check underside for same.

2. Remove bumpers, arch liners & wings- re-waxoyl (potentially re-do the underside if I get the urge) hidden bits & sills.

3. Clay, renovate & get a good few coats of polish & sealer on the paintwork.

4. Do something about the awful beam power of the headlights.

A question: Did all FB's (sporting the same alloys as mine) come originally with diamond cut alloy wheel faces?

All the series 3 cars like yours came with diamond cut wheels...... many people respray them or have them powder coated to refurb them but the 'correct' factory finish is a diamond cut face....... they can be recut but it ain't cheap!
If you want the coachwork cleaned and polished, speak to MarcS on here....

Righto- I did wonder if it was the chap from just down the road. Might give him a buzz if I can't get it to a stage I'm happy with.

Thanks for the info regarding the wheels, will looking getting them diamond cut when I replace the tyres I think. Would rather keep everything as period correct as possible for the time being. Assuming that the current 205/60/R14's are the right size - do you have any suggestions for tyre brands or popular conversion sizes?
