Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
IMG-20231006-WA0005.jpg Well its rolling again. (on space savers) Better pics to come later this week. Still a few (lot) of jobs to do. - Driveshaft - We have a camaro one that will be modified to fit the MX5 diff, and shortened. It has a centre bearing which I think will help with the amount of po...

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
Apparently the RX7 will be back with me this month! Will still need some work to get it running again, but its all stuff I can do. Can't wait! Even better at the end of the year I can register it as a VHI. As extreme as these modifications are, they can all be justified under the quite loose critier...

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
So its been a year since the last post. And to be honest, progress has been slow, in between buying a house, work, boat work to do, more work and the normal life gets in the way stuff, this has taken a back burner. But anyway, we're having a fresh push to get it onto the road this year. Since the la...

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
I have to confess, as I may have mentioned before, that the majority of the fab / welding work is being carried out by someone else. Sheet metal I'm actually OK at as I spent half a year doing it for my apprenticeship, but I can't weld, work full time & am rebuilding a boat as well! Still, Andy ...

Re: What I've done to my car this week!
So a bit later than planned. Some updates. As some may know, I had the barmy idea of putting the full double wishbone suspension from an MX5, into my S2. The idea being that from the outside it would be totally standard, but underneath I would have a much newer suspension design with plenty of upgra...

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
Hi All, Very quiet on the forum at the moment. It would be great to get an update from current members of where we all are with our cars. A short update on progress with projects or finished cars, photo's would be great. We know DIBS is without car but more spares than Mazda UK :D I'll post some ph...

Re: The Latest 1st gen sightings
I guess that's a reality of British salty roads.
Even now, the workshop I have mine with is still finding new areas of rust, on what looked externally to be a fairly sound car.
I've rust on the bulkhead, the floor, the chassis rails, arches, sills, boot, rear valance. You name it!

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
Bit of a photo dump. A house purchase, boat woes and other financial bits and bobs meant that I had to ask Andy to slow down a bit. However we're not far off a rolling chassis. All the reskinning will happen once the running gear is finished as the access is pretty good right now. There was a craplo...

Re: A new challenger 'The Beast from the East'
Haha, thanks for the offer. Sadly as you can see the rotary is going. (Well its already gone, I sold it the other day) I want to daily this bad boy in summer & sadly this engine is a compromise. At least its somewhat revvy. Not much progress to report right now, its moving but its all cancer rem...
