For those of us that havent got the time to keep a project thread going, or for those of us lucky enough to have mint cars needing only a bit of maintenance here and there and who don't need a thread of their own, what about posting here what you've done to your car this week, that may be of interest.
Any members with a project thread can link from here too if they want....
I'll start it off with this bit of routine maintenance....
3 weeks ago when the cold weather struck I realised that I hadn't put any antifreeze in the black RX7.... I didn't have time to go and get any so I just drained the system completely and left it as I wasn't using the car. I'd drained the coolant back in November when I flushed the heater core out but just refilled it with tapwater. I've been and got some antifreeze today and refilled the system and run the car up to temperature and all is good. So that's my job for the week.... not major but needed all the same.
What I've done to my car this week!

Re: What I've done to my car this week!
Gus hadn't run for more than a week so put charger on a day before going out on a dry day (to shopping centre). Whilst parked up and waiting for Missus to come out of Debenhams I idly tried to check the idler bushes (good pun what, what). I stood at the side of the car wiggling the 2" or so of slack steering wheel but couldn't see over the engine so abandoned the idea.
I then spent the evening and into the small hours of the night worrying about bushes in general and whether I should invest in a bush kit while I've still got some body strength left.....
It's not the miles (coming up 55,000) it's the age ....Gus & Me!......but nothing bangs or rattles underneath. Very firm ride in fact.
Woke up feeling better and decided bugger it - it'll break a suspension part soon enough then I'll have a looksee.
I have planned my oil change and 3 yr antifreeze change for the spring/summer though......got all the stuff sitting on't shelf.

lol, I've hardly set the world alight with progress on my car, but it doesn't stop me from spamming away with a project thread
I figure all my blitherings can be kept out of the way there without polluting the rest of the forum
This week... alternator pulleys, key cutting and stupid airpump questions
See? Told you it was trivial

I've had a hectic week with the fb & am pleased tangible progress has been made.
Put a gallon of unleaded in,then reversed it in & out of it's abode.
Maybe i should start a separate project thread?

£12.50 !!! You were robbed
I got my car home today, she has been at work out in the horrible weather for the last couple of years but shes now safely tucked away in the workshop.

Have you got any plans for the RX7 Keith or is it on the back burner for a while?

Ive got to get the Elford stuff on there for starters, and there are a couple of bodywork issues to deal with, oh and dont forget bushes!
But yes, everything is sort of on the back burner, I get a sneaky play with the cars while she's not looking. Got the Elford lump on the engine stand today to get sump off, I will be completly stripping that engine just to see whats in there.
