Pictures are good! We get the idea, lol. Hope that FC bonnet came from a Convertible so it's light alloy rather than a coupe where they're made of lead and depleted uranium

My opinion was the optmized engine cooling shroud on the rear. The engine is totally chromed. The effect is a bad surface cooling. Fresh air from the airscoop press down the heat coming up from the race header. To get this funktion you need the same bonnet material ( made of lead and depleted uranium ) to bring the different bonnet together.
Only the 180PS Horsepowered TurboII have a steel bonnet I think. Don´t know about a alloy Rx7 FB bonnet.
The price you payed is more wheigt. We talk about few kg.
If you look on damaged engine the probleme is allways the rear rotor engineside.
