Re: The SA that just wouldn't die
Its just wonderful to see one getting saved. Most ppl wouldn't even bother with a car in that condition. Good luck with it.

Re: The SA that just wouldn't die
Cheers, Ian. Certainly you'll get no argument from me. S3 upholstery is the nastiest I've ever seen on any car, ever. Weird, considering how much nicer some of the SA and S2 interiors were.ian65 wrote:turbo II cabriolet...... probably the nicest rx7 seats ever made.... much better than the 80's velour tack fitted to the s3Lucky wrote:Are those FC seats, Tim?
....not the tartan ones, though. Obviously

I think the S3 seats look ok in grey its those wine and brown ones that let them down, but then again I once had a velvet suit .....................

You on the look out Ian? The FC also came with a Wine colour option - not sure how rare they are though...?ian65 wrote:turbo II cabriolet...... probably the nicest rx7 seats ever made.... much better than the 80's velour tack fitted to the s3Lucky wrote:Are those FC seats, Tim?

Re: The SA that just wouldn't die
I've got some wine leather FD seats which I'm pretty confident would fit FC/FB subframes with a bit of finegling. It's a lovely colour, I believe the offical Mazda designation was "Oxblood" which sounds like some 20% proof Eastern European wine
I was going to swap them into my FD when the alcantara ones wore through, but I might see how well they fit FB subframes while they're off....

Re: The SA that just wouldn't die
Matt came down for a visit, so we cracked on with the SA. Donated interior and FC seats in properly now - so all bar needing a good scrub and vacuum it's done. Even the stock tape deck works.

Managed to finally get an idle out of her albeit at 2k rpm. Still only one rotor though, but if you look close at the venturi for the rear rotor it's dry as a bone. More IDA investigation required.
Glad we've found the problem though - soon as you splash a cap full of fuel in the rear rotor wakes up.

And wheels are sealed ready for tyres tomorrow.
