Project London Bridge
I thought I had better document some of my efforts since so much time and money is being spent on my new favourite pastime.
I am looking to do two engine builds for this car, firstly a half-bridgeport to the existing 12a and modify the Nikki carb as the car already has an aftermarket exhaust manifold and stainless exhaust fitted. I have the rebuild kit and porting templates ready to rock and roll.
The second engine build concerns 13BT engine swap with megasquirt ECU. This will be a longer term project which I will take my time planning to make sure the car isn't off the road for too long.
So far I have concentrated on making the car handle and stop as well as can be expected before increasing the power. .. Also im tidying up interior and exterior to spruce it up a bit.

Re: Project London Bridge
RX8 Seats which I bought with brackets already changed to suit the FC. These bolted straight in, and as luck would have it I didn't even have to drill the additional hole usually required to fit FC seats into the FB
I'm glad I didn't have to make up the brackets myself because it looked fairly complicated. I should have photographed the brackets and posted but they are in the car now so a bit late. I may be able to get a few close up shots of how they bolt up if anyone is considering fitting the same.

15x7 with 195 wide Toyo Proxes on the Front. Wheels are XXR 501 with +38 offset. Minimal clearance but haven't had any rubbing yet with stock ride height. All in all i'm happy with the result but larger diameter and wider rubber would have been nice too.

Re: Project London Bridge
Those '8 seats fit really well, very cool. I've seen people fit them into FDs and it's a right struggle! They look like they were meant to be there in your FB though
EDIT: Spooky, posted at the same time and using the same words as Dave
Separated at birth, lol?

Re: Project London Bridge
Safety first so brakes and suspension is a priority before I get started on any engine work. Front brake rotors were replaced with direct replacement Black Diamond slotted and Hawk pads. These are still bedding in. As it turns out the original rotors and pads were in fantastic condition and had very few miles on them. If anyone wants these let me know and i'll send some photos and measurements by PM - they are free to a good home (Collect only).

Re: Project London Bridge
Were those Black Diamond discs off-the-shelf, adn could I be so rude as to ask how much? I had some on my first FD and they were good discs, I'd be tempted to put some on the FB if they're a good price. Nice that they're slotted rather than cross-drilled

Re: Project London Bridge
They were the Black Diamond 6 slot ones. I got them on Ebay and they were off the shelf, turned up a day or two after ordering. Rotors were £246 plus £9.50 postage which is steep to say the least but I didn't want to cut any corners as my previous two First Gens (what we would call a Series 1 in NZ) had brakes so bad it was frightening
Extra slots and drilled were extra money and I couldn't see the benefit so settled on 6 slot in the end.
Hawk HP+ pads were £48.90 delivered for the front set, not too bad really.

Re: Project London Bridge
To be fair, that doesn't sound horrendous money for performance brake rotors. Thanks, I may look into getting some after Christmas.

Re: Project London Bridge
A few more developments today before lack of daylight and the cold meant calling it a day. ..
Xenon headlignt conversion
Leather gear gaiter
Tried different side mirrors - the Vitaloni ones looked nice but are just impractical. Found some on on ebay via Thailand that look ok and better field of vision.
Alternator reconditioned and twin pulley fitted.
Electric fan conversion
I'll post the pics tomorrow when I get in front if a computer.
