FB slowly turning into an FC

Post by RamoNZ »

This is basically a copy and paste from elsewhere, but hopefully interesting to those who've not seen in before.

Here she is in all her standard glory:

Here is the standard engine bay:

Engine out, and I swapped in an S5 front cross member with bigger brakes and power steering etc..

Dropped in the FC engine onto the orginal FC mounts:

And a new set of wheels:

I love this conversion... especially with that big mother of a turbo on it!
Very interested to see how the FC subframe conversion works out too.... I keep toying with the idea of doing mine
Amazing how different the cars looks for a change of wheels as well..... very cool. Like it.

Few progress pics.

sorted the UIM to make it fit the adaptor, with the right gaskets (thanks Timbo) and bolted on properly. TB on with gasket (Timbo again) all fuel and vac lines done and FPR in.

FC front seats fitted.

They are comfy and supportive - far better than the originals. They blend in reasonably well and super easy to fit.

Progress from today - Timbo came to Brighton to limbo which he did quite well!

In the morning we cracked on but time got away and had to leave it very close!

Obviously the timing is out or something else quite minor, but I'm super glad it's kicking and sounding good if not a tad loud!!!
