Series 3 project / parts car on ebay...

Image

sellers description:

Mazda rx7 series 1 rare 1986 non turbo 12a rotary engine not many still on the road in GB! Needs some tlc.
drives ok but mot failure failed on welding underneath quote for £500 from a garage other panels and doors good condition a stress mark on bumper but obviously cheaper for someone in the know ! too good to scrap as drives and revs for fun has oil leak but again can be sorted by someone in the trade you will then have a cheap to insure classic car (£110 fully comp ) after restoration interior very good for age, and all parts wrking except the horn , all electric windows work sunroof works with no rust other than as stated previous, 5 mint alloys taxed to end of month, has to go as moving and will have nowhere to store her off the road. Been offered £190 scrap but a shame to do that so selling as parts or offers for the whole car. Any questions or if you want more pics please ask. All paperwrk in my name and piles of old mots and receipts and the original 1986 handbook along with 1 key.

Another barn find shows up at eBay ..... 23K shown on clock ! Wimborne Dorset
It has a very nice leather interior and with a buy it now price of £1,250

For sale.
Mazda rx7 1984 series 2.

23k on the clock! 5 speed Manual. Metallic green (not believed to be original but looks well done!)

The chrome bullet mirrors are also wrong.
Sold as a non runner. It does fire up on easy start, we replaced the fuel pump and fuel is circulating but will not run!

There are four spark plugs on one side of the engine and two exhaust pipes exiting on the other side.

Electric windows. Sun roof is a metal section which pops out altogether. The body work and paint is very good for the year! Very tidy underneath, stainless exhaust all 5 alloy wheels could do with a refurb, a dent on the front nose cone, looks like it has had a light front end impact. The front bumper brackets are bent (I will try to sort this out before collection) the lights move but not fully. It moves freely and has disc brakes all round and the hand brake works. It has a lovely leather recaro style interior with matching carpets, dished three spoke steering wheel all complete looking correct to the mileage, little sign of ware! V5 present.

What is the opinion of the corrosion here? How much work is needed to sort something like that out? It's off the ebay listing of the Dark green series 3

In my experience they all exhibit surprising amounts of surface rust on the underside Jim, that's normal. But you need to make sure it's not into the main structure in any way other than surface rust.

See my PM to you.

 I've also just realised that the area we're looking at is the rear of the wheel arch not the front of it where the trailing arm connects

Well. I've just decided to take a punt at the Mint green Series 3 on ebay. I've put in a low bid, I'm winning at the moment, I'd have thought I'll be out bid though. It's absolutely miles away from me, so I'm not going any higher than what I've bid now. If I win then hooray! If not, then never mind.
