I popped down to to East Sussex to meet MarcS and pick up a front front bumper /spoiler for the S3. Was great to compare notes and to see such a fine FB example. I think I managed to convince myself to give up on the idea of replacing the rubber rear spoiler with and aftermarket wing and instead I think I'll look for a TWR or Elford one. th:

Hi all,

I haven't updated my progress for a while and I need to out up some more recent pics - hopefully next week..

I have managed to install Solex door locks all around. At least the car is keyed the same throughout now and a bit more secure.
Car stereo has has a bit of an upgrade and fuel regulator fitted.

Weather and holidays have meant progress has been slow recently but I have the following ready to install:

Koni yellow shock inserts (front)
KYB AGX shocks (rear)
PI higher rate springs
Energy suspension bushes (full set) but after hearing how much difficulty there is fitting some of these I may only replace the most important ones to improve handling.,,
Uprated fuel pump
braided fuel lines
silicon radiator hoses
Porting templates and engine rebuild kit
Front spoiler / air dam - this is now repaired and just needs a bit of final finishing and painting h[b[

Still need to get the following:

Rear spoiler - fibreglass type to replace the rubber wrap-around)
Uprated front swaybar - any ideas where to get one in the UK?
Full respray

So there is a lot of work ahead but im hoping to finish all the mechanical work ready for enjoying the start of summer in the car.

Cheers, Biznatch

Lots of good upgrades there. Also a couple of good 'preventatives' in there as well which is really my bag.

Tell to me please where is a good place to get from the new radiator hose.

(To many bloody Poirot repeats on TV these days.....makes me talk like 'im).

And at 29 years old the present ones have done good. The heater hoses will still be original though. What to do there?

Cheers Dave

Thanks Codge,
I looked high and low for silicon radiator hoses in the UK before caving in and importing a set from the US. They were very expensive when freight and customs fees were added but I managed to find blue ones to match the air filter housing. When I paint and polish the engine to match it should look great :)

I'll post a link regards the hoses in case you're interested.

Plenty of hours of ploughing through past forum information and other sources to find some of those parts. I'm keen to get the suspension and brakes in top form first before the engine build.

Link to the Ebay shop i bought the hoses from

http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=190794477069

Just a word of warning, one of the hoses is looks about 4" longer than the one on my car but the bend profile looms the same so I may need to trim a piece off to make it fit - not ideal considering the cost and effort of getting them. .. I'll let you know whether it fits properly when I fit them in the next few weeks.

Is that link right, dude? Doesn't seem to lead anywhere than a random eBay ads page. I'd be interested in seeing the hoses/how they fit/where they came from, to the best of my knowledge it wasn't possible to get off-the-shelf silicone hoses for the FB :?

I think these might be them wot he was on about http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-85-MAZDA-RX7 ... 3f&vxp=mtr

http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-85-MAZDA-RX7 ... 0d&vxp=mtr

or if one is particularly flush with the folding ..... http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1975-1985 ... 11481.html

Are they actually any better than stock items? I can see the attraction if one has a nice clean engine with a bay to match.
