Re: brand new weber 48 ida & 12a manifold
Hi Mick.
I may be interested.
Just curious.. why didnt you fit them to your fb?
Did you buy a suitable fuel pump as well?
I need to ask around if the jetting etc is suitable for my motor (its black magic as far as im concerned).
Where abouts in the country are you? (just wondering if i can save on the postage
).
Derek.

The jetting will not suit your motor, Derek.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

I assume it would all need changing. Is there anyone you would recommend in the uk to do it?
Would that be prohibitively expensive?.. would it be more sense to buy a carb with the correct jetting from the off?
Mick, would you be interested in splitting?,, how much for just the manifold?

They're dead easy to work on. You could set it up for about £100. The chokes are the only expensive part.
Shame you're not sticking with the Nikki after I sorted it.

Re: brand new weber 48 ida & 12a manifold
The old Nikki has done excellent service for a full season (many many thanks again) and on a zero budget but im ready for more power nowTOOL wrote:Shame you're not sticking with the Nikki after I sorted it.

The last time out it did break down, i eventually found that the carb was flooding. Took the top off (in the middle of a camping field) and the floats seemed to be working ok, put it back together and it worked fine again (and all the way home) but it obviously has the potential to be troublesome.
I hear youre a father now?.. Congratulations
