she looks like fizz travelled back in time and just bought her lol.
red looks good in fbs too, spoddy might be getting a minter in red
but shes 3 times the price of fizz's and an ordinary series 3, but no welding and original paint.
so i might be sorted soon, if she is what she says she is
why do we call cars she lol.

Sounds lovely spoddy.. to be honest I have to agree with the majority now that say its not worth it to spend less than 1000 pounds unless its a car for spares.. A project will end up costing u just as much as a clean one.. and for the super clean ones priced at 3000 ish.. that makes them good value too.
I seen the black rototechniks twe series 1 on their website.. and that really had me going.. what a nice car! If i wanted to go for a car that was on that level it would have to be a series 1 for me.

Got a chance to give her a good clean today.. inside and out.. Tried to get some of that shine back so gave her a polish.. I think it would really come out with a buff or mop.. but its much better than before. However by the time i had finished there was about ten mins of daylight left.. typical.. so there was hardly any light.

Some interior pics:

Silly me left the seat cover on in the pics:

Oh what do we have here? Pity no glass in it...

As i have said previously underside chassi is in pretty good nick... I can see some surface spots coming in places but far from being rust.. Terrible pics

The engine bay came out pretty well:

It really was getting dark at this point.. this could only mean one thing... Pop up lights baby!

Thats all the pics I took of it today...
Here are my other pride and joys.. The cosworth feeling sorry for itself in one corner.. I'm thinking full resto on it soon.. The evo.. well bad news.. I think the clutch is about to go on it after a drive about today.. which means major £££...

The weekend trackday toy... surprisingly very quick and capable cars..

Thats all for now... take care.
Fizz..

fizz, you lucky duck. she was a bargain for under a grand.
underneath looks quite good for her age. done a great job on her
looks like some fluid seeping outta the diff but i reckon the guys on here can advise better, may be typical of fbs.
look at your clutch etc and see if its something handy for the gearbox probs you had although another gearbox may not
be hard to get. try and find the fuel gauge connector wire into the tank and wd40 it to see if your fuel needle moves again.
well done on the polishing job, paintwork pretty tidy if original. i clay barred my rx8 and used some spray on simmonez wax
at a recent car show and she came up very well. so you could try a clay bar to see but looks fine to me.
back to black spray on the wheels, get it in halfords but she looks well man. to be honest the one i know of is 3 times the price
and may not be much tidier, but may go down on sunday if not raining to see how good she is. you have sold me on red lol.
i bet you turned some heads in that TWR body kit, she looks a million dollars, keep us posted

Re: 1985 Series 3 RX-7 - Red TWR
Its clean.. but not that clean.. Body looks to have had some touch ups over the years especially the bumpers.. there are 3 small dings around the body.. The colour came out better but really still far from perfect.. the black trims i used some cheap restorer but could do with something bit stronger especially the mirrors. Engine, diff and gearbox are on the to 'check' list.. replace what needs replacing and giver her the motor a good service so its running perfect. Underside.. is ok.. it has just passed an mot.. but there was an advisory on the rear suspension pick up points that there are surface bubbles starting to show.. and looking elsewhere i can see that too. So yes she was cheap but no where near the standard of those untouched cars like you mentioned.
I think it would need a bit of underseal maybe in those areas to make sure it passes next few years too. Windows are a lot better now.. speakers started working too.. just not the aerial... It has some sort of old sensord alarm that fell under the dash whilst i was cleaning.. that took some time to get back.
Really 'bummed' a bit though as im due to give the mitsibushi in for some work and waiting to see how much money that will take....

Re: 1985 Series 3 RX-7 - Red TWR
what does she need done, a new clutch?
i got mine replaced on my rx8 for £180, clutch outta bourne road mazda for about £285 I think maybe it was a little cheaper, can't just remember.
dunno how much on an evo, you may save up again. just go enjoy the fb. i'm sure a good drive will do her good.
you'll never have money when you have cars lol, just enjoy them best way you can.
yeah forgot to say you would do well to get underneath with some underseal. some of the guys use that por15 is it called?
its very good but hardens so gotta use it all up as putting a lid back on the tin no good. but to me it looks like surface rust.
so rub it down a bit and then use that paint so its all protected.
did you lift the rear seat and check underneath near the wheel arches? its an area that maybe the bubbling is starting to come through and would need
some attention? i always get told to check there as water comes down from the sun roof and collects then starts to rust.
so get rubbing and repainting before it gets worse and go out and have some fun

I've got a couple of spare gearboxes if you want one. Looks pretty clean to me. Do they run a full length Pangaea rod on the S3. I think my JDM S3 has a different set up. Hmmmmmm
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......
