With regards to the clutch.

Am I right in thinking the 12aT has lighter rotors than the s2 engine so will have a different counterweight on the flywheel?

This would mean that I cannot just swap the flywheels to allow me to use my current clutch. Its an exedy one so would nice to keep it!

the solenoid that closes off the vac advance it usually powered from the back of the alternator and the negative ( ground) goes through the pressure switch.... as soon as the pressure switch detects boost, it opens, and grounds the solenoid activating it and closing off the vac from the inlet to the dizzy and hence the automatic advance.

No!

S1 and 2 are the same weight. S3, 12A 6 port and 12AT are the same weight.

I have these rear counterweights and they are different.

Yes, S3 has the lightest rotors. These are the ones you want for building a 12A.

S3 flywheel is 225mm and S2 (and all early rotary) is 215mm. There are other differences too so don't get caught out.

This is a factory JDM 12AT dizzy with the boost retard. It only came out on the S3 12AT motor in Japan.

Do you have on of these or are you talking about the dizzy off your Elford, which will be a regular dizzy?

sorry mate.... I wasn't trying to diss you!
No problem.... I was so excited I ran away with trying to help without doing any research first!

Tool: FYI the engine in Tim's car is actually a genuine 12aT with Elford externals if that wasn't clear, so the Dizzy could be the standard one from the 12aT seeing as they were both electro mechanical. I would suspect it is a stock NA/Elford type - but certainly could be either.
