FYI, re the Nikki, I'm not sure you'll need to richer the mixture.

Tuning the Nikki actually used to involve leaner jets in the primaries and secondaries, as the Nikki is jetted very rich to enable oxidising of HC and CO in the thermal reactor.

There's quite an increase in performance apparently.

I've got specs and details here.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

Cheers for that.

I'll run it set up as is and see how it goes. I could go to the trouble if pressing out Venturi but once again, might be a step too far.

So... Carb situation resolved thanks to Era from Oldones Racing 0-0

As the previous engine used a Microtech and T2 coil packs the original wiring had been modified. This required some brand new wiring to the FC e dizzy and oil filled coils, which of course is virtually identical to the S3 set up.

I took the opportunity to fit the FC fuse box to clean things up and ditch the stupid fusible links - straight forward job and using more easily found FC large fuses.

I have also added a fuel pump relay to the engine bay as there isn't one from the factory and an identical one will replace the choke/check relay which also got removed. This relay controls the Alternator light and with out it - no light..

I'm not taking too many photos as with wiring it is best to run all the wires and then do the conduit so you don't get strays...

Onto Carb situation, I had previously nabbed a 13b 6 port to oldskool 13b carb adaptor from Aus, which cost as much to post as I paid for it (!).
Adapting a 12a manifold wasn't going to happen due to the width, but Era sorted me out a 13b manifold that just happened to be laying about - surely cannot be many of these in the UK??

I have since bolted the carb on to the manifold but thanks to the huge holes for the EGR it wont fire up properly - she is definitely a runner if you give her a ton of fuel but the lean air mix wont let it idle anywhere. I have a blanking plate coming to sort this.

I'm away for the next couple weekends, but not long before I look to take her for a MOT I reckon.

Out of curiosity Was your Steering Rack Power assisted?
If so what did you do to control the amount of assistance as the steering wheel
The FC had a stepper Motor that controlled it depending on the car speed.

I have just done the FC conversion and built a controller that can switch it via a switch

Im about to Hook up a speed sensor and have it controlled automatically Via my Custom Built controller.
