if sitting so long would the engine have seized up as heard best to fill the engine up with oil if leaving
a car for a long period of time.
i do like the red on the black bumpers, the drivers window maybe stuck, missing gear knob/radio and
the steering wheel looks like the jap import version?
nice car though, quick wash, new plugs and battery and some fresh petrol and try firing her up.
some craic if she started
it's in Lancashire
15 years is a long time to be stood about..... it'll need the brakes rebuilding, new clutch hydraulics, new tyres, all the fluids changing and lines cleaning out at a minimum ..... and probably a carb rebuild if the fuel was left in it for 15 years.
I doubt if the engine would have seized but you'd want to spin it over without fuel and ignition to get the oil pressure up before trying to fire it up..... the usual stuff.
It was up for sale previously in 2008 and 2009, in Stockport which is near Burnley. Presume same mill location.
Looks like a lot of work Spod. Plus my theory with all these barn finds: I'm guessing that in 1996 they found the back end had rotted through the back seats and parked it up wondering what to do next.
Recently had another engine fitted because rotar tips had gone, so is a runner but I have no history for the replacement engine, although it came with the car when I bought it 4 years ago. Has been a good little car but lack of money and space forces sale. Starter motor has also recently been reconditioned.
Had a new fuel tank fitted 4 years ago and a new Jan speed exhaust system. Had a brand new set of tyres last year for the mot and did about 150 miles before being parked up.
There are a couple of small rust spots on driver side wheel arch as can be seen in the photos. Needs a small patch of welding on rear sill and then should go straight through mot. Interior is in good condition. The front bumper was scraped on the garage door by the previous owner and I just never got around to having it repainted.
This is a fantastic little car and will be sad to see it go but go it must.
There are a few spares aswell, pair of doors, old engine and a couple of bags of odds and ends haven't really looked through them so I don't know what there is, it all came with the car and have been sat in the shed for the last four years.
Some service history availble
Any questions please get in touch.
No bids yet on the RX-Motors Elford. 1 day 5 hrs to go. Price seem ok if it's as good as Tim says. Doesn't explicity say it's an Elford Turbo engine though?

good spot Hayden..... I've just looked at the engine pics on this auction.... it isn't a turbo, it's running the Nikki.... although he doesn't say it's a turbo, it was described as an Elford so most would assume it's the turbo..... it's basically a s2 in drag..... still worth the money though.... especially if the buyer could drop on an elford stup to put on the engine.

I asked Tim if he could post a photo of the engine bay to see under the bonnet. He stated that it is a replacement engine that was fitted a few years ago that had cover 60,000 miles and was a good runner.
