Trimmed all the unwanted nozzles off the LIM today and pulled out the diffusers for cleaning, did it at my welders place and he then kindly blocked them off for good so no more swapping heat damaged rubber caps every 2 months. While he was at it he blocked off the two OMP ports. For those of you speed reading here's some pics.

So now all I'm left with is one nozzle for the FPR and no VAC leaks. 8)

Decided to go black on the LIM and UIM as I like the look so gave them some primer too.

Got bored then so did a test fit of the turbo.
Image

Side clearance is fine, need or get some heat mat though for the LIM and rails.

Intercooler pipe work still works albeit for needing a slightly bigger elbow so that's all good.

Now at the mercy of Alex the welder now as he is gonna make me a downpipe using the donated one as a template. I did ask him to just tidy that one up but gauged by the bemused look on his face that it didn't matter how much glitter he threw at it, he wouldn't be happy with the result. He's got to transfer the lamda bung over anyway so whatever makes him happy lol.

That's about it for today's progress as the kids arrive shortly and I've got to sort the Easter egg hunt out.

Oh, and I slapped the starter back on.

Getting there.

what level of boost are you running with that Tim? Once the turbo kicks in, it must go into warp drive -turbo-

Probably 15psi max, my clutch won't take a stupendous amount of power although it is decent exedy single plate but we'll see what happens on the rolling road when it's mapped.

Not a lot to report this week due to work being busy. Had the manifold studs and other odds and sods arrive though so hopefully weather will hold up and I can start bolting it back together.

Also done a sweet swap deal with a guy in the US for his tango single bulb indicators for my UK spec two colour. Most people de-tango - I'm actively tangoing. :D

Interestingly the US/AUS indicators are a dual filament lamp which is low with sidelights and obviously the higher wattage filament takes care of indicating. Never seen a dual element lamp that small so I hope you can get them here.

Still bugger all to report, so for the benefit of any of you that appreciate photos of really boring progress or lack thereof I present...

My new FPR
Image

The fifth time lucky nyloc nut for my turbo V band that had alluded me until now. For those of you still awake - it turned out to be a 3/8" nut but saved me £20 odd for a new V band clamp.

Image

A correct sized 90º bend for the turbo!!

Image

I also ordered a pair of barbed metric thread fittings for my fuel rail. Here they are! Oh the excitement.

Image

Shame they were the wrong thread pitch. :D

Manifold and downpipe due back any time now then it literally is a couple of hours work and go for the big start up.
