OK, here's what I read:
Fuel level gauges indicate the amount of fuel in fuel tank.
Before purchasing a fuel level gauge you will need to know the electrical match, measured in Ohms, of the sender in your fuel tank.
If you do not wish to remove/replace your fuel level sender you will need to measure the resistance of the sender installed in your vehicle and purchase a gauge with a matching resistance range. Marshall has several gauges with electrical matches for common sender resistances.
Alternately, you can replace the sender & gauge. We recommend the Marshall 240/33 Ohm gauge which is compatible with any aftermarket 240/33 Ohm sender.
Fuel level gauges are connected, via wires, to a fuel level sender mounted in the fuel tank. The sender has a method of measuring the fuel level, usually a float arm, and sends an electrical signal to the fuel gauge to indicate the level to display. The electrical match between the sender and gauge must be the same in order for the gauge to display the proper fuel level. If a non-matching sender is used, the gauge will either not work or it will display incorrect or erratic readings.
Does anyone know what the FB S3 fuel level sender Ohm resistance range/output etc is ?
