.

lol @ starship mileage, but very good paint job, from photos i know. i just wish people who boast about how tidy an fb is, would show the underneath
and rear wheel areas without the rear wheels on as we all know what happens to fbs in these areas. if they are in really good shape then yes an fb with this work done would be worth a few grand.

I'm very wary of cars that have had a full respray... why did it need respraying in the first place? There's nothing wrong with respraying a car if it's done right and for the right reasons and a bare metal respray with a photographic record of the works is fine...... but a quick blow over to hide rust is a mare and won't last 5 minutes. Personally, if a car needs new paint, I'd rather buy it as it is and get it sprayed myself... at least then I know that its done right and not hiding anything horrible.

aye that is very true ian. there was a red s3 on gumtree near me for £1500, ford pinto engine though, but the guy had resprayed the car so its like you say you don't know what lurks under the shiney paint job unless there was a photographic record of what it looked like before and good close up pics too.

but for £4000 there would need to be a legit reason, it'll never sell at that though.

If anybody is interested and wants an independent view before travelling, let me know as i work in Newcastle and can go look.

The car was in Surrey in 2012 https://www.flickr.com/photos/64268413@N08/6986089266

It seems familiar to me - maybe it is already known to the group?

Found it. Page 147 of spotters corner. Was in Worcester then. Was asking £1200 back then. Looks clean (pre respray?)
