Holley 600 to 12A

Post by re japi »

My friend is selling Holley 600cmf carburator, for low price. It used to be in smallblock V8. Well, my question is that what I need to modify and change to get it work in my street ported 12A?

Racing Beat offer a manifold that supports a Holley, but if the car is right-hand drive it physically won't fit with the brake servo and stuff

A 600 is a bit big by all accounts, but go for it if the price is right.

You'll just need the appropriate manifold for it.

Yes, I thought that its too big. And I imagine I can do manifold my self. Car is left hand drive. But how about Holleys internals, jets and those other crap? Do I have to change them and to what kind?

Racing Beat use a 465 cfm for a stock and street port, 600 cfm and mechanical secondaries for a bridgeport. Modded internals for both.

Not sure if toubwent ahead already
Used holley intake will cost 75-150
2 o rings and intake manifold to housing gasket
Two pair of smaller jets. Preferably .071 on secondaries and .075 on primaries
You need a 2 spacer and low carb hat , spacer should come with gaskets.

Fuel pump that can go up to 6 psi and a fuel tegulator if its too strong.
I suggest steel braid fuel line upgrades as well but not necessary

Steve put bike carbs on a 12A.

I've got IDAs so I work with them. I've got a 50mm IDA on the shelf, jetted for a 13B PP. I've got a 48 IDA on my 13B BP. They're a really nice carb.

You could try upgrading to a Hitachi 4 bbl off a factory 13B. Hard to find though.
