Flooding after refurb of carb

Post by wiggman2030 »

Hi guys

I recently rebuilt/cleaned the stock nikki carb. I put it back together but when I turned the ignition on I noticed that the float levels do not stop. It then starts to leak into the engine. Any ideas why this would happen? I haven't adjusted the float levels and I would have thought that only one may have been a problem but obviously it's both :( I'm guessing i'm gonna have to strip it again lol. Is there anything else which could contribute to this other than the floats themselves?

Thanks :)

I found out the problem :) The fuel return line wasn't flowing very well. I took the top part off another carb which I thought looked "better" There was a lot of resistance when blowing down the end. I swapped it for the other one and the problem was resolved. Yey! :D

Glad it's fixed.
I had another theory but wasn't confident in it.
