How did this turn out? Did you get the kit?ian65 wrote:For the price of a full kit, I can't be arsed to mess about with it. I'm going for a new master, new slave and new hard line... that'll sort it out once and for all.

good find Steve.... could help get someone out of the mire if their slave plays up.... MX5 spares are easier to get hold of than rx7 bits. Nice one.Steve-A wrote:Just as a note of interest....
I'd previously guestimated that the slaves are internally the same as the mk1-mk2.5 mx5. Today I tested that, as my slave died.
Left is rx7 s2 right is mx5 mk1. I'm now running the mx5 piston and seal in my s2 body and its working fine.
You can buy 'repair kits' for the mx5 slave consisting of piston, spring, seal and rubber boot for about £15. Compared to £60 for a brand new master and salve that Ian found up there it's not too much use, but if you've got one kicking about the garage floor it certainly is a saving if its just the piston and seal that are damaged rather than the bore.
