Sub-zero starting assist

Post by gregupstateny »

Hi - I just introduced my self in the new member area. My wife and I just purchased a 1981 GS after having a purchased new 1983 GSL for only a few years way back when. I'm writing about the "sub-zero starting assist". Although we live in the same town as earlier, I don't remember this from the 1983 RX7. We don't expect to drive the 1981 in cold weather and will store it for the winter but I'd like to know more about what this is, what fluid goes in the starting assist tank in engine compartment (it's empty now) and whatever else you can tell me about this system.
Thank you.

The sub zero assist has been areound in the earlier cars too.

It's a glycol mix; 90% antifreeze to 10% water.

Check the RX4 manual here: http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/manuals/rx4_m ... apters.pdf
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......
