I've posted the link in the parts sources section under "vinyl stickers / decals". There's some FC stuff there too.

I'm gonna hunt for a new gearbox. Would a S4 box with the back or tail end of an S3 box be a straight swap? Does anyone know of members with experience of this?

Also, anyone with these parts for sale? I'll stick a wanted ad up!

Cheers

Yep.

S3 and S4 gearboxes are very similar externally aside from the shifter position and gearbox mount.

The rear section will bolt on and then the whole thing will slot in no trouble.

That will work. S1 extension doesn't though.

I have a shortened S4 box in an RX2. S4 box has flat mount vs V shaped mount on S5 turbo box. Easy fit.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

I've picked up what I believe is an S4 gearbox from an NA 13B with an S2 tail. The clutch shaft has 22 splines which is promising. Dropping it off at the mech's this evening.

Didn't want to risk the original gearbox if the specialist was sceptical but I'll keep hold of it.

Updates and pictures when I pick the car up - hopefully I've accumulated and pilfered the right parts and it can come out to enjoy the sun asap!

I know I've been quite on this recently so here's a quick update!

Rest assured that the car is still in my care! I moved to NYC rather abruptly with work for 12 or so months. I was driving the car for a couple of months before I left but it's now in dry storage with cover (courtesy of my dad). I took a few pictures but the photo's of the nitty gritty work are on my hard drive in the UK so I'm afraid you'll have to cope with my exterior phone ones for now.
I know how much everyone loves photo's:

So; it had a new gearbox from 'shaunwil' which is an NA S4 with S3 tail section. Fitted perfectly however 1st gear seemed quite short (probably the shorter ratio of the NA box vs. 12At). The car drove very well and the engine is exceptionally smooth. The only hiccup I had was the idle control cable popped out of the throttle body and caused a stall when rolling up to a red light. In all honesty though the throttle and idle cables do need replacing - the throttle cable more so as it has started to fray. Also, the gearbox has a slight leak. I don't know where this is coming from but it'll have to wait for now. She'll get turned over every fortnight and pootled up and down the drive.

Work and updates will resume when I'm back in blighty!

PS considering the US was the largest market by far and a way for RX7s, I've only seen one so far... a tastelessly modded FD 'beater'.
