Awesome, I will check that out! I'm still going to take the gearbox to get it looked over. I'm already in there, I would rather have it not go out on me while it's put back together. I also never got to drive the car, I picked it up in a non running condition and started disassembling everything.ian65 wrote:If by the gearbox you mean the steering box, then that won't be the source of the movement in your steering column. Sounds like the collapsible steering column has , well, collapsed for want of a better description. There is a shear pin halfway down the column that snaps in a collision ( or if someone hits it with a hammer trying to get the steering wheel off and the 2 pieces of the steering column then slide about giving the play that you've got. Hmm we call it the steering gearbox, I dropped the steering part because I already mentioned it so I felt it could be safely assumed that the steering gearbox is what I was talking about...If I was talking about the transmission (which doesn't even exist right now) I would say transmission.
