Yes please, I will send tomorrow, it a shame the Battery Terminal covers wont fit over, I might just cut off some bit & see how they fit, if it ever gets warm again

Been pretty lazy at posting forums lately.. But I'll try and change that Haven't really done anything major lately. My e-fan and controller holding up well and keeping temps steady so I'm happy as with that upgrade! Although I'd still like an aftermarket water temp gauge so I can see exactly what is going on while I'm driving.

I popped into Waitrose in Malvern a while ago and tried to clean my windscreen but nothing came out. I could hear the motor and I knew the bottle wasn't empty - weird. Took off the cowling panel thing when I got home to find this


That Y connector was extremely brittle and must of finally given up and exploded. The tubing was pretty nasty also. An hour out at the car on a sunny afternoon was plenty of time to get it done in between chatting to the neighbours and people walking past Ended up looking like like this



I ordered 2 meters of 4mm of PVC tube, 1x 4mm T connector and 1x 4mm one-way valve from this seller http://stores.ebay.co.uk/pvctubeonlineltd/

Saw this while I was in there. Does anyone know what this thing is which the brown wire connects to?


Also this plug just has a wire looping from one hole to another. Any ideas? This one is at the passenger side firewall



Went out to put something in the car and ended up taking the heater blower motor out. As you do Ian's heater rebuild thread gave me a bit of inspiration to clean it up. Although I have the dash in which is why I only done the blower motor

Caked in dust. Touching that top bit of foam permanently squished it flat


All cleaned up. The flap that goes inside was in pretty good condition so I just gave it a wipe with a damp cloth and it was fine.


I replaced the foam with 1m x 10mm width x 6mm thickness from the following link. Seemed to seal up and fit really nice when I put it all back in.

Could probably do with a new clutch and associated bits and pieces. But it is okay for now.

Oh I also passed my damn driving test last week. Finally!


Went and saw GT_James for a bit of a celebration cruise We should be able to get some decent pictures soon. Got some nice roads to explore around Worcester/Malvern

That's about it though really. Nothing really exciting... Yet!

The little blob thing with the brown wire looks like a supressor to me. (A capacitor designed to remove voltage spikes from the wiper motor in operation - which might sound on the radio).

Can I please take up a bit of Forum time for my personal plea for green 'P' plates. I know you'll think 'Silly old Duffer' or something worse but I for one am very forgiving with a car making mistakes and carrying 'P' plates.

When there's an 'O' plate for 'Oldies", I'll get some.

Congrats on passing test
The roundy thingy doofer with the brown wire is a suppressor, this stops electrical interference from the wiper motor affecting audio equipment. (I was too slow just seen Dave's post)

My Y-piece did exactly what yours has and self-harmed catastrophically. One more Mazda weak spot for the list, lol. I figure I'll do my heater blower when I patch the hole I found when I was changing the Y-piece that had been eaten through the scuttle

Congrats on your test pass. Just in time for summer ... YAY I will be inspecting my screen washer tubing this weekend and will put the heater / blower inspection on my to do list. Top work there.

Thanks guys! Done a little over 110 miles over the last few days. Not quite as many as Keith mentioned! . Popped up to see Steve-A and he got me to go on the motorway for the first time aye haha. Wasn't so bad but I just sat in the left lane and it wasn't very busy. He reinforced that I get up to speed before getting onto the motorway

The blower motor is easy as to remove. 3 nuts, wiring connector and the cable that moves the flap. 2 minutes later and a little wiggling then it should be out. The main heater controls on the other hand Can wait 'til I have the dash out ha.

I can see pro's and con's of this in my opinion. Pro's would be that people like yourself would understand when I make a bit of a mistake and hopefully not get too angry. Con's could be that people will treat me as a learner still. Which would mean people would constantly be trying to overtake me and cut me up as they don't want to get stuck behind a learner/P plates.


I won't be bringing it down to Goodwood as I don't feel confident enough yet for such a long journey. So I'll be going down with GT_James. If any of you want to meet up for a bit of a chat then just give me a PM and I can send you my number
