with spring fast approaching, I thought I'd better make a start on some of the jobs that I'd intended to do over the winter but couldn't motivate myself to start.
Last year, I bought this LSD off Ramon...

I've put it into my spare S3 rear axle and given the whole thing a coat of POR15...

Image

and then began the hateful job of getting the old bushes out of the rear suspension arms, cleaning the rust off, painting with POR15 and then fitting the new Energy Suspension polybushes..... as anyone who has done these tasks can testify, they are all equally horrible to do.

Finally, got them finished and ready to go on the car...

So it's all ready to go on the car now..... was going to do it tomorrow but I've now got to go shopping instead :(

Good for you to have a LSD.
To make it work well by drive harder and may be noticeably more understeering.
different coil spring/ARB replacement can reduced it.

Looks good, Ian. I eventually want to get an LSD aye :D. Must be nice to have a spare axle to clean up and make a quick swap when its ready . I'm not particularly looking forward to doing my bushes from what everyone is saying about removing them :? Haha.

Nice table! :geek:

cool table ian.

nice to see your fb is coming along, very cold outside this time of year, but you have your new garage/workshop
so it's handy for keeping the rain/wind off you while you work away.

it'll be some car when finished, i replaced the rear drop links and sway bar bushes on my mx3, no more clunks
and smoother and handling better round corners, great fun car to drive for FWD. it's worth replacing bushes alright.

More work on my new LSD....swapped out the old rear suspension today.... looks a bit manky doesn't it?...

luckily on this car, the fixing bolts came undone pretty easily and the replacement rear axle and suspension arms went in...

and here's the old one looking, well, old I suppose...

Should get the brakes back on it tomorrow.
