If youre not going for big power, I'd stick with just the 2 injectors.

If you get some ID1000's you can turn the idle pulsewidth rightdown for maximum economy.

I'd also rig up the OMP so you can activate fuel cut on over run.

These are ID2000's on a 1.8l NA Honda..

Cool, I was under the impression idling injectors much above 650cc is tricky? Good call on the OMP. :)

One step ahead of you there Ian I messaged Tool a few days ago. He said he's sold everything he doesn't want to keep for his own use now. :( Ah well. I've not got cash to throw about right now anyway so probably wouldn't be ready buy bits off him right now.

Injector technology has moved on - these are dynamically matched for opening and closing times which means they can go superlow pulsewidths - the video shows it all though. And getting 2 injectors is cheapers than 4! :)

Ok serves me right for skimming and not watching the video! Wow, that it pretty impressive. As you say a pair of their 1000cc injectors would do the job just nicely.

I've sold everything except the engine and box, which I'm keeping for a future build. I'll let you know if that plan changes though.

New stock arriving all the time though. Just got my hands on a nice Microtech ;)
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

Another week gone by and the clutch is behaving itself, so thats good. :)

On the downside she decided to cut out on the motorway about 11pm last night :x Re-started fine 30 secs later and I drove for a few more miles before putting my foot down a bit more and she cut out again. Felt like fuel starvation.

With a couple of hours of light left this afternoon I had a quick look into it, and found the fuel filter totally full of crap. This is what I drained out of it :S

I hope this is just collected crap that got into the tank during its 15 year lay up before I got the car and during my restoration work, and now its all been collected by the filter the system is clean. Only time will tell I guess.

With no local motorfactors open and me needing to get her running again ASAP I resorted to a generic carb fuel filter from hellfrauds, and after a quick test run so far so good :) Probably ought to secure it better though!

While I had the back of the car up in the air I whipped the passengers rear disk off and had a second attempt at skimming it. The first time had been a bit of a mad scramble to get it ready for MOT and TBH it just wasn't skimmed quite true.

This time was more successful and the pulsing has completely gone from the pedal :)

All in all a good couple of hours. Tomorrow my new radio should arrive so updates on that soon! Once the radio is in I start on prep for EFI properly :)

I'm not happy to say the fuel starvation problem is definitely sorted :)

About a week later than I was hoping, I managed to grab some time to fit my new radio today.

I spent quite a long time in this sort of mess....

The old radio was bodged in with scotch locks. So I pretty much started over. I had a little bit of fun tracing the un-labled speaker wires back and sorting out the rats nest of wires that turned out to be for the non-existant electric ariel.

It now looks like this...

Maybe not super pretty but functional and safe.

Next up I spent a little while chopping up my glove box and mounting the cage. I gave the cage a quick lick of black paint too so it would look a little less bodged when in the car.

And then it was just a case of sticking the glove box in. And testing it out.

I'm very pleased with the better sound quality :)

So now I've got a big hole in the centre console. I've got an oil temp gauge to go in it, and I've managed to resurrect my old wideband 02 sensor/controller that I gave up on last year.

I was just gonna get a blanking plate with 3 holes for 52m gauges in it. I still need a gauge for my wideband controller though and they seem stupidly expensive for a gauge that will actually read in AFR rather than an arbitrary scale of lean-rich.

This got me thinking, and I've decided to build my own gauge. I'm also gonna build an electronic boost gauge and then hopefully mount all 3 gauges behind a smoked panel, so it'll look like a retro 80s digital dash board kinda thing.

I also bit the bullet today and I've got a set of these coming in the post to see what I can make of them....

I've got a whole bunch of old stuff, cameras and climbing gear, on eBay and I'm hoping it'll pay for more fuel injection parts soon. Think megasquirt, a ida/doce intake manifold and fuel pump parts will the main costly things for this stage.

I upgraded before I got the car on the road. My Calrions were just ruined, the cones had turned to dust.

I've got some cheap (ish) Alpine ones in there now. Rears were a pain to fit as they were just a fraction bigger than the hole in the car! In combination with the new head unit its plenty of sound 8-)

Seeing as I'm typing, I'm slowly amassing parts for the swap to fuel injection and Megasquirt. My throttle bodies are here and look cool.

I've also got an FC crank angle sensor and 4 FD trailing coils courtesy of RX Motors :)

And today I did some mapping on this rare old bird, in exchange for some free dyno time when I've got the Megasquirt up and running.

Have to say, whilst it was fun to poke about with that bike today, I'm glad I've got a Mazda designed rotary rather than Norton!

Awesomes 8-) But yeah, I understand what you mean about Norton design. Well, it was rather.... British, wasn't it? To think Steve Hislop won on the Isle of Man on a bike that was made from Hoover pipes and Meccano shows what an unparalleled talent he really was.
