Hello from Bavaria, Germany

Post by grease_monkey »

Hi guys!

first of all, congrats to this great forum and its members!
As suggested by the topic's subject I live in Bavaria, Germany. Being not only a mechanic but enthusiast in old vehicles and stuff generally, I must admit that my S2 RX7 wasn't chosen to fit into my little collection but to add to my experience and "expertise".
My brother got hold of a RX8 lately, and that just triggered that old wish to find out what that wankel-myth was all about... Also I had to replace my 98 Grand Cherokee V8 Limited I was getting really tired of.
So I got my hands on the cheapest car with a rotary available to be my next daily driver.
Although it was not running when I picked it up, it took me a couple hours to get it started. Couple more to find out that the kids who owned it messed everything up they touched. And after downloading tons of manuals of all kind available and comparing to what is under the hood, I can't blame them... It seems to be put together out of bits and pieces from S1 through S3, but the "decoding" starts after registration.
ATM I am finetuning and getting it road-ready. Still theres a lot of work ahead, and currently we are making 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
But after a PU-bushing kit installed and around 200 km of (finally trouble-free) test driving, I JUST LOVE IT!!!
This superb forum already gave me a ton of good hints, THX! I hope I can contribute to the high standarts here in future, once I get to know them better!

Cheers,
Greasy

First of all thanks for the welcome!

@ spirit r : Found it there... small world it is these days, isn't it? :) After missing some in the months before that and in my area, I decided to take a go on this one... But I might consider to put back up for sale, as I am after a mint '78 ATM.
