Possible future owner

Post by mjheathcote »

Hello I live in Yorkshire just outside of Holmfirth.
Would have loved a new RX7 when I passed my driving test back in 84, and I still think they look great over 30 years later!
Searching around one is for sale with only 28K miles, white series 3, but for nearly £7K...
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,
welcome to the forum h:

Keep an eye on this thread.... nearly all 1st gen RX7's that come up for sale in the UK get flagged up in this thread...

http://rx7fb.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=12&start=2100

if you have a read through it, it will give you a good feel for current prices....... that white car that's up for 7 grand actually sold on Ebay back in February this year for £2200 and was then bought by a dealer who is just chancing his arm at that sort of money..... it's not worth anywhere near 7K

There's lots of good info and advice on the forum to help you buy a good car.

cheers,
Ian

Thanks for the swift reply on the white one, thought it was rather expensive!

Hi Mike, I think 'Heathcliffe' would have been your best handle.
Welcome. Wife & I live just off the A1 in South Yorks. If you're ever going to be passing send me a Private Message. You can have a look at our car......Not for sale I would stress but I would think one of the best unmodded Series 3's around. Usually not washed, not vacuumed out, not steamed cleaned underbonnet, but all fluids up to level, all tyre pressures correct & so on. It's value I would guess at £4000 - £4500 tops, with supportable 56,000 mile paperwork (Albeit my records). It's getting ready for new suspension bushes true, but that's about it.

It's correct Reg number is a real curiosity - a genuine K plate, perhaps worth another £800 or so, which when we sell will stay with little ol' Gus. It's the silver one near the end of the headline banner. The car that everyone on here sees and says 'I must have a red racing pin stripe on my car'......

Hope that pricing info helps. Pity you wern't around for the £2200 steal. It was at Selby!

Cheers Codge (Ancient Dave)
