Hi, my name is groutup
I have a first generation RX7 which I left in storage in 1992 with 53000 on the clock. I drove the car into the store and went to Hong Kong for nine months and ended up staying for over 20 years. The car is still in storage absolute original condition, but although covered with a full cloth tailored cover of course has gathered dust and mould.
I want to get on board with the club to discuss recovery to running condition and whatever it takes to get this car back to running condition.
At the time I last drove the car I had no idea this would be the story.
Anyway, thank you very much to the club for the opportunity to join.
Will post photos next post.

Re: Stored 1st generation RX7
Hi and welcome, sounds like a great project, I laid my FB up for 11 years, the main problem I had was mainly with the fuel system as the petrol had all turned to tar in the carb, the brakes had to be all rebuilt and I changed all hoses. Your tyres will be well past there sell by date and you could have a problem with the cooling system. I'm sure others will be a long soon with more info. Where is the car stored ?
Good luck

Re: Stored 1st generation RX7
wow! nine months...twenty years... that's quite a miss-calculation! My missus goes spare if I just pop up to the shops and it takes more than quarter of an hour

Hopefully the car has stayed dry and the dreaded rot hasn't got in. On later rotaries being stood for ages often knackers the engine water seals due to corrosion of the grooves they sit in, but 12A engines seem less susceptible to it. Best of luck. Are you in the UK?

Welcome on the most kindly Forum,
When we need parts are out of fabrication, we will ask you. Your long buisness in China would help to find a company reproduce some parts for us.
