Hi there, welcome to the Forum, there is a wealth of information in the posts & even greater wealth in the members knowledge.
We love to see pictures of the car, does it need any restoration? The chances are if you have a problem its been sorted by several others on their cars already
regards Pete

Thanks Pete,

Ro80's, RE5, DKW, and a fire breathing Norton!!
what a collection.
A good friend always talks about the Norton's lapping the TT like a fire breathing dragon.

Drove the rx7 for the first time last night.
Took it steady because the cars not been driven for a long time.
Engine so willing to wind up, but kept below 5k.
Gearbox smooth as silk, and found a 5th gear!! (thought the first rx7's were 4 speed)
I spotted the car had a steering box, so was also surprised that the steering was ok too, a little vague, but ok. Not driven with a steering box since my grandad's old Anglia.
Car is idling better now since its run, and exhaust emissions smell cleaner too.

Will have a read about the old cars on this great site.
Thanks for the welcome Pete....

Hi mate, I'd like to know which Series 3 car you bought, for register purposes. All info is used with descretion.

The standing joke with the steering which I always find funny....... driving a 1st generation RX7 is a democratic partnership......you each have a vote which way to go when you turn the steering wheel!

They're not bad though once you get used to it.

As long as the steering is OK I would not be tempted to try & adjust the box as it is a finicky job that often makes it worse before you get it better
Don't forget the pictures :P

Steve Hislop was the nearest to a modern-day demigod walking amongst our mere mortals! To think Fogarty destroyed a factory Yamaha OW01 trying to beat Hizzy's lap on what was basically a Norton thrown together in a shed and made from baling wire and hope 8-)

I think the RX7 should win a classic car award for the hardest to find bonnet catch.
Must drive mot stations mad!!!
