New owner from Eastern Canada
New owner from Eastern Canada
Hello everyone, honored to join the FB community, I finally bought myself a 1984 RX-7 GSL its in really great condition, with almost no rust, just two spots, one small spot under the paint on the bottom of the passenger door, can't see it, but you can feel it slightly, just surface rust, and the second spot is the passenger floor pan, bit of rust, but everything else is absolutely rust free! New paint job from 2009, has a new motor (some of you will surely hate this haha), its a brand new crate motor, 3.8L V6 Buick engine 2008. The original engine needs coils, and I'm still debating on fixing it (any info on cost of fixing would be cool), or staying with the 3.8L, or something bigger haha. Also has a perfect interior, just needs to be detailed and shampooed. Should I show some pictures here or go to a new thread/section? Thanks everyone for your time, and I'll be checking out what all of you have

When in doubt....hit the gas.
22 7's in the yard makes me a collector...not a redneck.

Hi there, No rust in the notorious spot in the back wheel arches? Where the top links attach to the chassis.
You're a lucky guy if no rust there........or has it been plated?
Welcome by the way

Re: New owner from Eastern Canada
Hullo, welcome along from me! Good to see any RX-7 kept alive, even if it takes a reciprocating engine to do it.
The guy who builds my engines over here in the UK is from Canada originally. I once made the mistake of asking him why he settled on the UK and got the slightly baffling answer that he liked the climate.
Now, that's not something you hear very often
