Re: Hello from Maryland
Figures are more like:
Series 1.......only about 8 on the road, 35 to 40 off road/ laid up in various places.
Series 2.......about 40 roadgoing, 70 or so laid up
Series 3.......about 80 rodgoing, 100 or so laid up.
Then there are about 350/400 in the record system for all 3 series of cars that have been pulled for parts. (This record must be very short of the real number of scrapped cars).
That's the British Isles complete, including Islands and all of Ireland, North & South.

Some translate Material for your girl.SE Survivor wrote:spirit r,very cool sales brochure. Of course can't read some of it,will show it to my girl and she can translate for me. Look close at the pic in the brochure, think they could have done a better job of aligning the right headlight door on that car as it was being photographed for sales literature. Does your car have the 12A engine? Yes.

spirit r,my girl translated the sales brochure(she picked up on the dealer stamp from Austria,Salzburg i think) and the technical spec. sheet you previously posted. I did see in the trans gear ratio stats the 5th gear ratio you mentioned. Does your car have power windows, and power steering? Does it have it's original radio and what is it? I see it has the SE wheels, does it have the SE vented discs front and rear, and along with the suspension?

Re: Hello from Maryland
Hey, belated welcome from me! Just working my way through all the posts I've missed last few weeks
I never see any 1st gens on the road here either, and I think I must be about the last UK resident who daily drives their FB! I get asked about it all the time in car parks and the like... the other day I was playing with an Lotus Elise on the way down the bypass and he pulled me over into a petrol station because he couldn't believe the old Rex was keeping up with him! He used to have one back in the day and said "mine never went like yours". I drive mine much, much more than my FD single turbo and though it's clearly a lot slower and more wobbly, it's at least as much (if not more) fun
