Re: Saving My 81 RX7
Such a shame to hear you're getting rid of it aye
. Hopefully the new owner will visit here when it sells
Re: Saving My 81 RX7
Thanks for all the messages! Really hope to get another 1st Gen in the not too distant future!
Hopefully there will still be a few good ones around when that time comes.... Even if it means having to import one to South Africa....

Re: Saving My 81 RX7
Out of curiosity, how readily available are parts like rear caliper, nikki carbs, head light lift mechanism and the engine bay rubbers?
Re: Saving My 81 RX7
This question just opens more questions. New parts or used?spirit r wrote:how readily available are parts like rear caliper, nikki carbs, head light lift mechanism and the engine bay rubbers?
For me in Canada the hardest to get is the rear calipers , but they can be found.
Caliper and carb., rebuild kits are easily available.
I have a box full of used head light motors and engine bay rubbers , all used. Some of the members closer to you probably have the same.
Happy to help you out if I can
When in doubt....hit the gas.
22 7's in the yard makes me a collector...not a redneck.

Re: Saving My 81 RX7
I'm really sorry to hear your bad news, Keith.
I guess, there's no other way, otherwise you would have taken it. So I really hope to read about your next 1st gen very soon!
If you need the calipers, head light lifts, and so on in used condition, just let me know via e-mail - you know, shipping to SA won't be a problem!
Cheers
Gernot

Re: Saving My 81 RX7
Just read your Thread from start - what a great story & so much excellent work, whoever buys it make sure they read the story, it will sell it for you.
I know how hard it is to part with a car/bike when you have put a lot of hard work into it due to circumstances beyond your control.
Just think, when circumstances allow you to start again how much knowledge of the mark you now have,
best of luck
regards Pete
