Fritter the Rally car
Fritter the Rally car
I have been working feverishly on this for the last two months or so. I plan to post a picture a day, untill it is done ( It needs to be done by this Sunday, August 9th)
I really want to THANK YOU, the forum members. Your discussions, builds and topics have been an inspiration to me as I faced this 7's rebuild.
In a few weeks I will share the whole story. For now, just know this car last ran in September 1994. [img][/img]

Nice.
More details on the rack conversion please. I'm sure others here are interested too.

Seems a lot of work to restore the car.

Re: Fritter the Rally car
I don't have a lot of info on this. It was included with a shell I bought as he did not want it. The shell was used as an auto slalom car ( parking lot and orange cones - not sure what you call it. It's painted blue. Was installed by a friend. Seems to quicken the steering. If all goes to plan I will have a full report for you in a week.TOOL wrote:More details on the rack conversion please. it has been and is. I think i am crazy. I have been involved with this car since the 1980 's. I was the first person to co-drive in it and it was the last 2 wheel drive car to win the Canadian Rally Championship. After rolling it in 1994 it has been stored inside and I have done a few minor things to it. Not sure what changed but I have been hard at it for the last while.spirit r wrote:Seems a lot of work to restore the car.
Note the car is an SA and an early one. It still has the old slider front calipers. I know because I re-built them yesterday

I hope this works. Link to pics from Sunday Oct 18th gravel test / rally sprint in Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada. Car named fritter, is a 1979 SA Street ported gen 2. She did a stellar job.
