Re: Cheap Thermostats
In my spares dept, I have a Continental Direct thermostat. It comes with the most comprehensive set of gaskets ever including 6 paper gaskets and 2 rubber rings as well. It has Motorad stamped on the housing but no mention of opening temp. I nicked one of the gaskets for my recent thermostat swap.

Re: Cheap Thermostats
FB only has slight recess to retain the thermostat. See Dave's third pic down here:A7RXY wrote:Andy are you saying that these will not fit ?

FC (S5) and FD have much deeper recess to retain the oring. You can see one here (scroll down):

Re: Cheap Thermostats
Just make sure it clears the outlet properly. If they sit too high, you won't get the outlet bolted down over the top of it correctly.
The FC outlet has more space over the top of the thermostat.
Don't use the rubber ring.
