Like Ian said, some of that rust looks a bit worrying. Who knows what lurks beneath those windscreen trims.. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!

Ian I thought it was that one, I sometimes wonder where some of these people are coming from. We all know that these cars that are rust free are few and far between and becoming hard to find. I just hope that anyone who is looking to buy one of these great cars finds this site first and does their research first before the get caught by the likes of the person selling this example.

I was advised to import one from Japan if I really wanted one rust free.
Or it's spend lots of money welding one up and anything rust free and
very clean is belonging to folk on here.
Anyone getting something half decent with some welding down properly
and looked after for a few grand is doing well and better with MOT and
been driven.

I don't know if this has already been spotted but this looks like a really nice example.

it does look tidy but it's what lies beneath that worries us Kevin.... this is the same car from January last year...

to quote the seller:
"I purchased the car about a year ago from a Lady in London who had owned and the car (and kept it in a garage) since 1997 but had stopped driving it in around 2010 and had been in her garage since, prior to that it was owned by a Shelia Dobbins from new, who also garaged the car
so garaged all it's life then....... NOT!
This was for sale in January last year on ebay and sold for £800.......it had been stood in someones garden for ages..... James went to look at it and said it was a parts car with pools of water throughout the interior and plants and moss growing out of every crevice...... here are the pics...
Seller quote: "the tester complimented how clean the underside was"
I presume this radius arm mounting point rot has been cut out and repaired then...
Another quote from the seller...
"Professionally resprayed (It was silver from factory but had lacquer peel)"
Ah, yes, the typical 1st gen 'lacquer peel'...... looks suspiciously like bulkhead rot and a front end knock to me....
Looks good now but I'd be very worried about what's under that new shiny paint...... especially as someones been fibbing about it being garaged etc.
Here's the link to when it was advertised last year...
