I was reading on t'internet a patent for a rotary engine that has been turned 180 degrees and the exhaust port now at the top and injection is down at the bottom.
Basically it is for a longer intake stroke and has a turbo at the top of the engine. The sparkies where on the opposite side of the housing and the leading was at a slight angle.
It was a tough read understanding it and the figures helped, but was interesting enough to read. Dunno if this is what Mazda been working on as longer stroke then must be the 16x for 1.6L
