8j 16" 10 offset with 215/45 r 16 tyres?

Post by Victorsanders »

Hi all!

I have found a set of alloys that i absolutely love! however, they are 8j X 16 with an offset of 10

Is this a plausible fit with 215/45 tyres?

Id prefer not to tamper with the arches if possible!

Thanks in advance!

You are adding 30mm offset plus 63mm of wheel width. Time for fender flares if you don't want to roll the arches. Tyre sizing is good though with minimal changes in speedo reading and ride height.

Thats an awesome motor you got there!

I wish i had the time and money for an in depth restoration like that!

Props to you fella, its a great job!

I dont really wanna go chopping into the arches.

Would you recommend a 7j wheel instead?

Would a 16x7 et 10 fit without modding the car?

I am comfortably fitting 205/40/17 on 17x7 rim on the front and 235/40/17 on 17x8 rim on the back  With coilovers and more negative camber, I should be able to fit 215 and possibly 225 at the front. The rear should also fit 245 wide with the guards rolled.

I can't remember the exact offset, but because it is a 3 piece rim, the offset could be customised and I got the wheel manufacturer to get it right. From memory, I do think it's 40, just like factory. 20 offset gives you more poke and limits the width you can fit.

You can see how much room you actually have if you get the offset right.
