New or refurbished radiator

Post by A7RXY »

Hi I'm needing to get my rad refurbished or changed, I want to keep it as standard as possible. Any members in the south east or Essex area with recommendations would help.

Mister Tool may still have a refurbished rad. I think it's a S3 version

Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

Dibs, have ypu changed the stat lately? Might be worth doing before you change the rad if it's struggling to keep cool in traffic

Yes Ian it was the first thing I did, unless the new one is not working.

worth getting it into a pan of boiling water to check it's opening ok..... otherwise, as we said at RRG, the rad's probably due a refresh after 30 yrs... it doesn't take much to get a blockage and lose efficiency.

I think that's right a new or refurbished after 31 years seems right. Rockauto still have them in the states as a last resort.

best thing to do is get it recored... it will still look factory original but have modern performance....most of the cars on here have been modified so we'd stick anything on but as yours is one of the few original condition cars left, getting your original rad recored is probably the way to do it. There's a place in Colchester does them I think
