For the money you paid she is in pretty good nick compared to some I went to see near me.
More like Fred Flinstone cars, no need for a 12a engine as you could stuck our feet through the floor and they were twice the price. So well done, I love that red interior and exterior colour too.

Re the rear valance, the mazda dealership I go to for some mx3 parts were quite good as they had the older parts books and did tell me they get the parts from a big center in Germany. So as Ian has posted the part number I can give them a call and see if they can help and even find out some info so you can give to your local Mazda dealership to order the part for you.

Hi Keith and welcome to the Forum.
Nice to see your car looks in pretty good shape with minor areas showing signs of being attacked by the rust monkeys.
The rear valance is an area that shows early signs of rust so when re-built will require a little extra treatment as a preventative measure.
When I bought my valance, the mazda agent couldn't find any in the uk and had to resort to European supply - so hopefully there are still a few out there for other members.
Be sure to remove all the crud and other debris from mating faces, clean up with a soft pad and then apply a weldable primer to both faces before re-fitting and welding. Don't be put off too much by the rust - once you have removed the horrible stuff the re-build comes along quickly

Thanks mate yeah it's overall very solid to be honest, I'm hoping to do a deal on some parts so hopefully he will have what I need, can't say I'm good enough or have the tools to remake the lower panels.

Good evening peeps, well it's been a while since I started this thread but it's now time to update it!
I've spent what time I have had free to accumulate as many parts as i can in order to build this little fb back up and get her on the road. These parts included
- GAZ coilovers with adjustable top mounts
- full super pro poly bush kit
- refurbished calipers
- powder coated arms throughout
- a rock auto order of many parts like ball joints, track rods, clutch slave, and service items etc
- period jap 15" 'split' rims
Etc etc

So in the last two weeks I've welded the repairs needed, finished cleaning the chassis underside, etch primed, under sealed then shot a couple of coats of skoda meteor grey in 2K to finish it off.
Then the fun bit started,inpackin and bolting all my shines new parts on! Which made me very happy!

Some really good work done underneath, are you undersealing over that paint?
I always liked the red s2 interior, especially the seats. I salute your time and effort into
keeping another fb on the road.
