Experience/Advice with Stainless Braided Brake Lines?

Post by tomsmy »

Hey Guys,

As i am in the process of replacing the brake master cylinder, pads and rotors, I figured I may as well do the lines as well.

Just curious if anyone had any experience or advice regarding stainless braided lines? or what ones to buy/avoid?

I found the following set on Ebay and am being tempted with the shinyness :D .....they will match my Tokico Blue Struts nicely!

Thanks

Tom

Check how your S2 car's front brake lines work with the struts.......on the series 3 the front lines are in two parts. (They fasten with the brake clips through a bracket on the strut leg). The S2 may not do that? Anyone else say anything about it?

But there will certainly be the 5th line between chassis and back axle which just about all the suppliers seem to leave out.
Search on here because there's been a fair bit of chat about getting S/S lines made up in the North of England.
HEL components from memory. Certainly for S3.

Hope that helps
Dave

I found that same set in blue after a quick search on EBay, around $50. Make sure you order the correct set for either disk or drum rear.

Some more info here. I sent mine directly to Hel Performance and had some nice new ones arrive a few days later :)
