Rear Sway Bar - Is this normal?

Post by tomsmy »

So.......now I have the rear axle free I noticed something odd with my rear sway bar.

Is the stock bar supposed to be asymmetrical?

It seems quite severe if it was caused by damage, especially as noting else looks problematic. As per the images below - notice how one side is flat and the other has a "hump" in it?

Thanks,

Tom

Awesome! Thank you!

I really appreciate all the help, after parking the car in October it may now be roadworthy again in a couple of weeks :D

Yep, not just you - I thought mine was bent at first too.

Worried me that the car must've sustained a bad knock at some point, then I saw some pics online which showed the shape was normal - phew, massive relief!!

So does anyone know why it is this shape?

It's obviously not to clear anything.....clutching at straws here but is it to compensate for the Watts link being off centre?
