You said you were undecided about cutting the rear arches to fit flares and it being impossible to go back, I always think that it's no worse than rusty arches, and there are arch repair panels available that could be welded back in to return the car to original if you wanted to remove the flares. obviously it would require a fair amount of work to weld them in, fill and paint the panel, but any modification can be undone if you put your mind to it.

Nick,

Revotec do an adjustable temp sensor that you can fit to an aluminium boss welded into the radiator, you can then control the temperature precisely.

If the picture is showing, you can see the controller just below the rad cap.

Took the kids (and me mum) up to the woods to see the bluebells. Yet again the Fb proves to be commodious family transport  Plus it negotiated the unmade, rutted track up to the church in the woods with aplomb. And without scraping anything off

Funny you should say that...

The FD is back on the road  The FB is taking her place in the garage, though hopefully the refresh won't take a year like the FD one just did  I'd say it became a labour of love, but it was mostly hate by the end. Could do a bit of an update on my FD garage queens thread or whatever that section's called, I suppose if anyone's interested
