hey guys just a minor update on my 1st time self wheel alignment.
as of the last update i was debating on what to do with the caster
part of the alignment.
to get it close to even on both sides
i had to adjust drivers side all the way to one end of the caster rod adjustment
and the passengers side all the way to opposite end of adjustment.
not being a wheel alignment mechanic
i knew there was something instantly wrong with it being like this.
thought maybe caster/tension rods were bent
nup they were ok
scary thoughts like bent chasis entered my thoughts
still a possibility
then lying under the car hurting my brain thinking
iv looked over to the passengers side lower control arm
and it was bent and twisted
looked to the drivers side and it was even more obvious
so my self wheel alignment has come to an abrupt end.
still pissed off the wheel alignments at two different places
couldnt report back to me the struts being in different positions
the caster being not even close
but for these professionals to miss a bent and twisted LCA
i was grateful to the last place challenging me to do it myself.
so i done what any stubborn rotor owner would do
ordered some beefy adjustable LCA from techno toy tuning
then i thought i might as well order some of their sexy caster/torsion rods
and couldnt stop there and ordered a strut tower brace as well.
in the meantime i ordered some inner & outer tie rod ends from rockauto
as well as some strut top mount plates.
waiting on arrival from techno toy tuning parts to rip into front end.
and not being the type to be able to help himself
ordered lowered front and rear springs from pedders suspension.
as well as gas shocks.
fitted the rear springs and shocks the other day
planning to rebush the watts linkage over easter weekend,
they look pretty worn.
and rear end will be pretty much taken care off.
all the meantime car has still been a daily driver.
cant wait for final parts to arrive next week
and finish that self wheel alignment i vowed to do
