I made my own gasket which covers them up, as the Inlet is solid. I can always re-instate easily then.ian65 wrote:I thought S3 inlets blanked off the EGR port![]()
Good idea to fit stainless core plugs into the water channels, a touch of RTV then new O rings with the new gasket.

Connected up today, She started 2nd turn (sounds throaty)

Strange thing, after she warmed up I decided to tidy everything up, fuel lines etc She would only start/run when the return fuel line was made with braided pipes
If I used any other pipe it would not even fire? Took a while to work this out.
These are the run off/float chamber return lines which only flow when the float gets stuck, this was not happening but there must be a logical reason. On a Austin Maxi I had if the float got stuck it overflowed onto the exhaust manifold

Pictures will follow soon. Test drive on Monday

I am after a set of OMP lines if any are For sale?

Thanks Thomas, At the moment I have kept the existing stock pump, from what I have read it should be OK.spirit r wrote:Which fuelpump did you use Pete?

Sorted out the pipework a bit more today & changed the OMP for a new one. The new one "Ticks", if you touch it you can feel it ticking as well? is this normal as I have never noticed it before

Confirmed the brakes were OK & took her for a spin

She growls when you put your foot to the floor, which quickly turns into a snarl at about 5000rpm.
It is certainly a lot quicker & louder, power is there from the start & feels like a lot more torque. Does not feel lumpy on deceleration below 2000 rpm.

Not sure I like the look of the engine bay
I miss the blue Air Filter & it seems to have lost its charm (I do like the performance though).
I will now set about cleaning up the old manifold & carb & see how I get on with the change.

Lovely job there Pete, I like the look of the engine bay.
I said the same as you about seeing how I would get on with a change of carbs and they're still on

Thanks Jess, I am now going to try & reduce the excess wiring loom so I am going to try And make another that will plug in & just supply that which remains.Hobbawobba wrote:That is very cool! I quite like the look of them aye

if you can get a spare engine loom to dissect it's easy.... these are the connections at the plug on the inner wing... water temp 2 is the water temp sensor on the back of the water pump housing which controls the choke magnet.DKWW2000 wrote:Thanks Jess, I am now going to try & reduce the excess wiring loom so I am going to try And make another that will plug in & just supply that which remains.Hobbawobba wrote:That is very cool!
