I posted up a reply to this the other day on my phone but unfortunately the forum went down as I pressed submit

I didn't realise Penrite was available outside of Australia. These are very popular with rotaries here. The 15W40 oil was mainly intended for Renesis/RX8. Most people have traditionally used HPR30 (20W60) or HPR40 (25W70) - don't get scared off by the high numbers - if you look at the Penrite website they show that they perform like lower weight oils and can be used where 20W50 is originally specified, as is the case for old rotaries. On a N/A engine (other than Renesis), I would be using HPR30. For an old/worn engine, I'd be using HPR40. The 15W40 should be ok for a turbo engine, but I think HPR30 would be fine as well. I have always used HPR30 or sometimes Mobil1 synthetic 5W50.

Blurb on HPR30 here (it is specifically recommended by Penrite for "older rotaries"): https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/ ... 60-mineral

I saw the title of this and was thinking exactly what Greg just said. It's pretty much the go to oil over in Aussie aye. I also didn;t realise it was available anywhere else. Seems a decent price also 0-0
