They made a lot of mods to the carb, what precisely they did I have no idea, but the engine is ported, so it would need plenty of juice.

The homologation papers don't give too much away, but are worth a look.

It's mentioned very early on that it's the same spec motor that they ran in the 1981 event, just a different carb.

My RX3 back home had a 12a bridge with modded nikki. Re- jetted, modded intake intake manifold and mechanical secondaries. Quite a good combo and a bunch more economical and less temperamental than an IDA.
