RNAS Yeovilton Air Show & Car show

Post by DKWW2000 »

Went to the Royal Navy Air Station Yeovilton Air Day which also has a few Classic Cars in the centre of the display area. If Carlsberg did Air shows this would be it
Lots of Aircraft (Fixed wing & Rotary) with 7 hours of displays :o which Included Red Arrows, Lancaster/Spitfire & Hurricane, Harrier, Typhoon, F16, C-130 Hercules, etc etc etc............the Senior service know how to organise a with aircraft from all 3 services.
The car show was right in the middle of the Static displays so had a constant stream of the 45,000+ spectators.
The only negative was had to be in by 0730hrs & did not leave until 1845hrs.
Lots of super cars also, about 12 Mclarens + lots of Ferrari's/Lambos etc:-
If you look just above the open bonnet you can make out a Hurricane/Spitfire & Lancaster

You are on the right way Pete. I also realized, air shows together with classic car shows are mostly interesting and good. Same in UK as in Germany.
Thanks for posting.

Nice work there Pete. One question ... pic 12, there is a red Golf with P-Slot alloys and a blue/grey estate next to it. My first thought was Borgward but the shape is wrong. Can't zoom in clearly enough to see the badge in the side either. Any suggestions???

The P slots belong to a Scirocco, it was parked next to me, he was telling me the centre cover to the wheels are like rocking horse shit & were very hard to find............the blue/grey estate was a Amazon with Twin SUs which apparently were stock.

Scirocco .. Should have gone to specsavers  Rectangular headlamps are a dead giveaway. Amazon ... of course , see it now. And good work getting 'twin SU's' into the conversation
